The most beautiful October day in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia inspired by italian studies abroad, garden elegance, and two families truly joining as one.
Eunice and Michael might just be the most laid back couple I have ever worked with, let alone ever met. They were always smiling and just happy to be on a call or talking about their wedding, meaning that all their love for each other shined through every single time I was around them.
Eunice and Michael met during their first year of medical school when Eunice needed a phone charger. They had several mutual friends and after hanging out and studying together for a little over a month, they went on their first date to an adorable little restaurant by the river in Augusta.
Flash forward almost 3 years later, and here we are getting them married in Midtown Atlanta, GA! When we first started planning, we looked at venues all throughout Atlanta and the surrounding areas – everything from vineyards to botanical gardens, museums, and art galleries. When we stumbled upon the Piedmont Room & Garden Tent, on the edges of Piedmont Park in Midtown, it was instant love. Eunice and Michael got everything they had wanted – an outdoor garden-feeling ceremony, a covered reception space with Italian/tuscan like vibes (as Eunice studied abroad during college), and all with views of the Atlanta skyline. What made this venue even more perfect, was that this was actually the park where Michael popped the question!
Come wedding weekend, we kicked things off with an early afternoon rehearsal in the Piedmont Garden. Later that day, the Just Us team arrived to Maggiano’s Little Italy Buckhead to begin setup for the rehearsal dinner, following such, Eunice and Michael, their family and wedding party arrived and began their pre-wedding festivities.
After 18 months of planning, wedding day was finally here! Eunice and her party started things off with hair and makeup, with the help of Brushworx Hair & Makeup, at the Atlanta Marriott Suites Midtown. Before long, The Axtell’s Photo + Film arrived and began shooting the couples’ details, where Blosm (formally Stylish Stems) dropped off all of the personal flowers. Once hair and makeup were complete, Eunice got ready with the help of her mom and maid of honor, and she had her first look with her wedding party.
After lunch the Just Us Team arrived to the Piedmont Room & Garden Tent to begin their setup. Around this same time, both Eunice & Michael made their way separately to Piedmont Park, for their first look, and it was the most perfect moment in time.
It took (what felt like) no time at all to complete their ceremony setup, courtesy of Blosm. With their reception setup being completed closely after. Atlanta Modern Events supplied chargers and gold flatware for our table settings with linen from BBJ LaTavola, with Eunice custom making all of the reception dinner menus and placards.
Once Eunice AND Michael had their first look, they, along with their wedding party, made their way to the Piedmont Room & Garden Tent and went right into holding as guests began to arrive.
Their ceremony was officiated by Eunice’s family pastor, Reverend Sun Jae with music provided by Dr. Dre 1800. The stage was set and the sun was in peak golden hour. Michael had the biggest smile on his face when Eunice proceeded down the aisle with her dad to a classical cover of Enchanted by Taylor Swift. Something I loved about their ceremony was that it was partly in English and partly Korean – songs, readings, blessings, all of it. And it was truly beautiful to witness these two families coming together as one. Eunice and Michael were then pronounced husband & wife!
Once the ceremony concluded, guests made their way into the Garden Tent for a brief cocktail hour, while Eunice and Michael finished the last of their newlywed portraits.
When their pictures were done, it was time to celebrate! The wedding party made their way into the space to Can’t Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake, which paved the way for Eunice and Michael to go right into their first dance to Lover (dance remix) by Taylor Swift – which was the most adorable choreographed dance ever! After their dance, Eunice’s Grandfather gave the blessing, with the dinner buffet and stations provided by the Piedmont Park Tavern opening shortly after.
Following dinner, Eunice and Michael cut their cake (provided by Publix), their Maid of Honor and Best Man gave toasts, they each danced with their parents, and then the dance floor was officially open for business with the help of DJ Dre 1800! PanoPix ATL also kept guests entertained with their 360’ Photo Booth! The night ended with the final dance to You’ve Got The Love by Florence and the Machine (a personal forever favorite – cue Sex & The City), and a sparkler exit with the Atlanta Skyline as their backdrop.
It was truly such a pleasure getting to know Eunice and Michael throughout their entire planning, as well as their wonderful friends and family during their wedding weekend, and I feel so honored to have been a part of their dream celebration.
Cheers to the new Dr. & Mrs! Love Courtney & the Just Us Weddings Team
