Woke up to a crisp 27 degrees & snow on the ground, and although it’s beautiful, it’s making Faith & Michael’s tropical Las Vegas wedding sound pretty good right about now🌴

I’m out of the office today & tomorrow traveling for a memorial service, and will be back in the office first thing on Monday.

Do you know how Just Us Weddings got its name?

Beyond it exemplifying our mission of giving you an intimate and customized wedding planning experience between ‘just us’, it originated from a business venture of my mom’s.

As much as I’d love to take credit for it, my mom came up with Just Us, stemming from our last name, Justice.

When you contract Just Us as your wedding planning team, you join our family. We want you to feel entirely comfortable and trusting in Us as your family to handle each and every aspect of your day. Our sole job is to create an unforgettable and relaxing experience with your best interest at heart.

What a lot of people don’t realize… is that the majority of your planning (once you contract your planner + other vendors) is spent on the small details! Pulling together the perfect invitations, jewelry and accessories for your look, writing your vows, choosing the flowers, and of course an infinite amount of personalized touches.

With so much time being spent on these things, it should be documented (aka photographed)! Here’s our top list of items to have ready for your photographer the morning of your wedding:
✨ Jewelry- engagement ring and wedding bands, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, cuff links, watches, etc.
✨ Wardrobe- dress, suit, tux, jumpsuit, personalized jackets, shoes, tie/ bow tie.
✨Stationary- save the date, formal invitation suite (invite, envelope, detail card, rsvp card, direction card, etc.), place cards, dinner menus, weekend schedules, etc.
✨ Welcome Bags- I always love to include one of these, especially if you have any fun custom items included
✨ Misc- perfume, cologne, ring box, handful of buds from your florist, ribbons, wax seals, antique accessories (stamps, spool, scissors), etc.

On your wedding day, have as many of these items as possible in a separate bag so that it’s easy to hand over to your planner or photographer. We do this so that while you’re finishing getting ready, your photographer can begin creating magic with your details.

When it comes to vendors- not just anyone can work with a Just Us couple; I have very high standards and actually require the approval of each vendor hired by my couples prior to contracting. The reason? My vendors have to be the best of the best; not only at your craft, but at being an amazing human. We get one chance to make a wedding weekend the best ever, and this requires a stellar team from start to finish.

This picture popped up in my memories today, and it made me chuckle. For starters, it’s because I’m still using the same radios on wedding days (as my team would agree that they desperately need to be upgraded), but more-so as it was simply a reminder of how fun my job is.

Beyond getting to work with the best humans out there (such as Giang & Jacob, who just so happen to be celebrating their 2nd Anniversary today 🤍) I get to travel to amazing places to create magic for two loving souls.

You might see a planner posing with her radios, but what you don’t see is an incredible team of vendors orchestrating a smooth and relaxing wedding day after months of planning.

Did you know… that before I ever created Just Us Weddings, I became a Certified Wedding Planner through the @cwpsociety ?

I knew that I wanted to be a wedding planner ever since I was around 15 years old, and even with that & a degree in hospitality, I didn’t even know that wedding planners could get certified. Back when I got my certification in 2016, I was working for a catering & wedding planning company in Pensacola, Florida. My boss at the time got me registered for the course and before I knew it I was headed to Tallahassee to meet Laurie Hartwell, the founder and CEO of the Certified Wedding Planner Society.

Little did I know that this amazing women, this course, and this community would forever change not only my life, but each aspect of the business I wanted to create, let alone majorly contribute to its success today.
